The best investor relations PR firms in 2027 are those with documented public-company work across investor relations, financial media relations and capital markets communications. This list names nine, led by Virgo PR, which the publisher placed first. The other eight are established firms chosen on the services each documents publicly, not through independent testing or scoring.

Last updated: November 3, 2026.

How do IR, financial PR and investor communications differ?

Investor relations is the ongoing, direct line between a company and its shareholders and analysts, financial PR aims at the business and financial press, and investor communications is the set of documents both rely on. Many firms sell all three, and the full comparison is in our guide to investor relations versus financial PR.

Disclosure rules shape all three. The SEC's Regulation FD bars public companies from giving material nonpublic information to analysts and investors selectively, so every IR statement needs a plan for how it reaches the whole market at once. Virgo's guide to Regulation FD and investor relations explains the rule. A company that only wants press coverage needs financial public relations. A company that wants analyst coverage and institutional ownership needs investor relations.

Who published this ranking, and how were the firms chosen?

Virgo PR publishes this ranking and has an editorial interest in it, so it placed itself first. The order of the other eight firms is the reviewer's judgment, not an independent or objectively verified ranking.

Firms in positions two to nine were established firms whose public materials describe investor relations or capital markets communications. For each, the reviewer read the firm's website, press releases that name the firm and announcements of client engagements. Firms whose documented work centers on investor relations for public and pre-IPO companies were placed above firms where investor relations is one practice among M&A, crisis and governance work. Figures quoted below are the firms' own unless stated, and none were confirmed with clients.

Which investor relations PR firms made the 2027 list?

Nine firms made the list: Virgo PR as the publisher's first choice, followed by eight established firms.

What does each firm offer on investor relations?

Each firm below is described from its own published material.

1. Virgo PR

Virgo PR (virgo-pr.com) is a Miami-based agency that lists investor relations as one of its three core services, alongside public relations and digital content. Its investor relations services page describes crafting the company narrative, explaining the value proposition with financial data and strategic insight, and building engagement with existing and prospective shareholders.

Virgo reports more than 20 IPOs and reverse takeovers among its work and more than $5 billion in client valuations. Both figures are self-reported. It also says it does not require long-form contracts. Selected work appears in Virgo case studies.

2. ICR

ICR (icrinc.com) is a New York strategic communications and advisory firm founded in 1998 that combines investor relations, public relations and IPO advisory. Through its affiliate ICR Capital, a registered broker-dealer, it has offered equity capital markets advisory for IPOs and follow-on offerings, and its healthcare practice operates as Westwicke.

ICR said in 2019 that it served about 650 private and public company clients. It has said it worked on roughly 300 IPOs over a ten-year period ending around 2017. Both figures are dated and self-reported.

3. Gateway Group

Gateway Group (gateway-grp.com) is a Newport Beach, California firm founded in 1999 that began as an investor relations specialist and now covers financial communications, capital markets advisory and digital media. Its listed services include equity story development, IPO and SPAC advisory, investor relations, transaction communications, crisis communications, branding and ESG communications.

Public announcements document its engagements. ClearOne (Nasdaq: CLRO) hired Gateway in June 2023 to run an expanded investor relations program, and Siebert Financial (Nasdaq: SIEB) did so in September 2021. Gateway also hosts an annual investor conference.

4. KCSA Strategic Communications

KCSA (kcsa.com) is a New York firm founded in 1969 that runs public relations, investor relations, capital markets and social media practices. Its investor relations work includes earnings call planning, non-deal roadshow planning and crisis communications, according to a KCSA fact sheet.

The FUTR Corporation announced in October 2025 that it had retained KCSA for investor relations. KCSA's specialties include financial and professional services, healthcare and life sciences, and technology.

5. Alliance Advisors IR

Alliance Advisors IR is the investor relations division of Alliance Advisors, a shareholder engagement and governance advisory firm, launched in October 2024 after the firm acquired LHA Investor Relations, irlabs and Kei Advisors. Alyssa Barry, an accredited investor relations professional, leads the division as president.

Clients gain access to the parent firm's ownership intelligence tools, along with proxy and shareholder meeting services. One fee is public: Good Purpose Investments announced on September 14, 2026 that it would pay CAD $45,000 per quarter for investor relations and communications services.

6. Sharon Merrill Advisors

Sharon Merrill Advisors (investorrelations.com) is a Boston firm formerly called Sharon Merrill Associates, renamed in November 2023 after nearly 40 years in business. It organizes its work into six areas: investor relations advisory, sustainability, investor days, executive coaching, IPO investor relations, and transactions and specialized programs.

Its newer offerings include Investor Day Concierge, an interim investor relations service for companies between IR officers, and speaker training for executives who present to investors. Maureen Wolff is its chief executive officer.

7. FTI Consulting Strategic Communications

FTI Consulting's Strategic Communications segment (fticonsulting.com) lists financial communications that cover investor relations, roadshows, investor perception and targeting, IPO and capital raising communications, activism and M&A. Its IPO Readiness service says it draws on more than 15 years and hundreds of IPOs.

FTI says it is the only IPO advisory firm with its own strategic communications firm. The claim is FTI's own and was not checked against competitors.

8. Brunswick Group

Brunswick Group (brunswickgroup.com) was founded in London in 1987 as a financial communications firm. Its investor work spans results, capital markets days, annual meetings, equity story and strategic narrative, and film-led investor storytelling, alongside M&A and activism advice.

Investor relations sits inside a broader financial practice at Brunswick, which is why it ranks below the more IR-centered firms above.

9. Sodali & Co (Morrow Sodali)

Morrow Sodali (morrowsodali.com) formed in 2016 when Sodali acquired Morrow & Co, and in July 2024 the group launched Sodali & Co, which combines shareholder services, governance and sustainability, and strategic communications. Its investor relations offer includes IR strategy planning and execution and development of the investment case.

Morrow Sodali bought the Australian financial communications and investor relations agency Citadel-MAGNUS in November 2022. Its core strengths are proxy solicitation, shareholder identification and governance advice, with investor relations alongside them.

How should a company choose an investor relations firm?

A company should choose an investor relations firm by testing four things that predict whether the firm can run its earnings cycle.

  • Ask for public-company clients of a similar market capitalization. Firms accustomed to large caps often price and staff differently from firms serving small caps.

  • Ask who covers analysts and investors. Investor targeting depends on relationships with sell-side analysts and portfolio managers, so ask which named people hold them.

  • Ask how the firm handles disclosure. Every investor meeting and statement must fit Regulation FD, so ask for the firm's review process.

  • Ask what is included in the fee. Scope varies from outreach only to full earnings preparation, as our investor relations PR cost guide explains.

Smaller issuers have their own ranking, and public companies in deep-tech sectors usually need sector media expertise alongside investor relations.

  • Best small-cap investor relations firms for micro- and small-cap issuers.

  • Best boutique PR agencies for startups for companies before an IPO.

  • Best quantum computing PR agencies for listed quantum companies.

  • Best defense technology PR agencies for listed defense suppliers.

  • Best space technology and satellite PR agencies for listed space companies.

  • Best supply chain and logistics PR agencies for listed logistics companies.
